Staff Spotlight: Nurse Sophonie!

It’s certainly a gift from heaven that we have at For You Haiti to find the best souls here at La Gonave, Port-au-Prince, Australia, the States, or everywhere to serve a higher purpose. 

At For You Haiti, we are not only colleagues but we are family, and one of our youngest Nurses and team members is Sophonie. Our lovely little nurse takes care of our patients and students in our special need classroom.

I will always remember Sophonie’s first day with us. It was impressive how well she did. It was like she has always done this job!

After finishing nursing school at the Wesleyan Nursing School of La Gonave, instead of returning to her family in Leogane, Sophonie made the very hard decision to stay on the Island and serve.

She is always prepared with an amazing smile, unlimited energy, a huge heart, and incredible flexibility (always available to help). If I had to describe Sophonie in a few words I would probably say she is a perfect “all-in-one”. You will never have the chance of asking Sophonie for help because before you even think about asking her she already asked you!
