Chetzer’s Story:

Born on May 10, 2010, Chetzer experienced a seizure 15 days after birth. His parents sought treatment in Port-au-Prince, but after nine months, they could no longer afford the necessary physiotherapy, transportation, and seizure medication. As a result, Chetzer, who cannot walk or talk, has never attended school. Watching his siblings go to school each day leaves him visibly sad.

In 2022, he briefly attended our special needs classroom but had to stop due to the noise. Despite this, our dedicated teachers continue home visits, providing games and learning tools tailored to his needs. Your support makes this possible, showcasing For You Haiti’s commitment to accommodating the unique needs of every patient, student, and child.

A Little Blessing: Glade Nereus’s Story

Born on October 22, 2023, with clubfoot, Glade came to us for assistance. After consulting our pediatrician, she was referred to Adventist Hospital in Carrefour for surgery by Haiti’s best orthopedist. The surgery was successful, and she began wearing corrective boots, which she needs to change every three months. Due to the chaos in Haiti, she missed some appointments, but this month, she finally received her new boots.

Her parents are deeply grateful to For You Haiti for making this possible, as they couldn’t afford the surgery on their own. While we don’t seek glory, such heartfelt gratitude inspires us to continue serving those in need.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT – EMMANUEL

Born on May 15, 1964, in Anse-à-Galets, La Gonave, Emmanuel finished primary school at “Ecole National de l’Anse-à-Galets.” He is one of our night security guards at the Care House, where patients stay before or after surgery.

Emmanuel has a rich history, having worked with the US Army in Haiti in 1994 as an interpreter for 15 months. He then became self-employed in public transportation for four years in La Gonave. From 2015, he served as a bodyguard for a local deputy, humorously referring to it as secret service. In late 2019, he joined For You Haiti as a security guard at the Care House, a role he is passionate about. Emmanuel is a hardworking, kind-hearted individual who prioritizes patient safety, often driving patients to the mainland ferry early in the morning.
