Launa is one of the FYH chefs. She was born in “Nan Citron” a village about 11 miles from the main city of the Island. She started her primary school at “Nan Citron” and moved to Anse-a-Galets when she was just 8 years old where she completed her primary school.
After graduating the secondary school, she stayed at Anse à Galets to study what she was always dreaming of Cosmetology and Hotel Management.
She worked for For You Haiti’s school for two years and started For You Haiti’s feeding program. Launa is the manager of this program and prepares 2,500 hot, nutritious meals each week. In 2020, For You Haiti partnered with World Food Programme which donates food to us each month. Launa works in the kitchen 5 days a week, sometimes on Sundays as well, so the food is prepared in time for the children on Monday.
Launa coordinates the kitchen staff and everyone says how delicious her food is.
Launa is an extremely dedicated worker and we are so happy to have her on the team!
