New Life & New Miracles

March 1, 2023

When the gangs burned down Edeline Excellent’s home and little tailor shop at Martissant, she didn’t have any other option but to come back to La Gonave, with 4 children, pregnant (carrying twins), and her husband who had just lost everything. Edeline Excellent didn’t have hope for any future.

Arriving at La Gonave, they lived with her sister for a while, but it was so difficult for her to so suddenly support her pregnant sister with 4 children and her husband so she asked them to leave.

It was so sad seeing this family homeless, the people in the community put their money together to rent a one-room apartment for them.

When they came to For You Haiti’s office, Edeline was already in her 26th week of pregnancy. She was very anemic and her blood pressure was 210/110mmHg. For You Haiti sent a driver for a home evaluative visit at her house and that is how we learned the whole family was sleeping on the floor.

For You Haiti provided beds, a  bureau, and a small table with chairs. We also enrolled Edeline in For You Haiti’s prenatal program where her medical bills, including her C-Section at the Wesleyan hospital, were covered. She was able to safely deliver 2 beautiful twins daughters.
