Our Special Needs Teacher- Madam Ylde

Madam Ylde is a strong and loving teacher and sees the societal benefits of creating an inclusion school on La Gonâve. Madam Ylde and our FYH President Samuel Michel have been an essential part of designing the classroom to meet the specific needs of the students.  She visited with the children in their homes to get to know their likes, dislikes and individual capabilities. The FYH team feels incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful, bright and loving teacher to be the leader of this new classroom! Madame Ylde states,“I’m so happy and proud to join a very solid and dedicated team to meet the most vulnerable.  I’m bringing all my knowledge and experience to help For You Haiti accomplish its goals of helping every child succeed.”

Professional background

Madam Ylde was born in Pointe-A-Raquette, the second commune of La Gonâve.  As a child, she was a very bright student, full of energy and passionate about learning.  Madam Ylde went to Port-au-Prince for high school, and after high school attended the State University of Haiti to study education with a concentration in natural sciences and chemistry.  She started her professional career as a teacher in PAP where she worked with children faced with  psychological challenges.  From there she went  onto Saint Hyacinthe Academie (A French education program) where she taught Natural Science and Chemistry.  After 4 years of experience as a teacher in PAP, Madam Ylde decided to return to her hometown to serve her community of La Gonâve.

A passion for the most vulnerable

Madame Ylde asserted that “In the middle of 2022, For You Haiti chose me in order to help socialize the most vulnerable children.  To me, this was the best news I have ever received this year because my passion for education will continue to grow. Since I was in primary school my goal has been to help the vulnerable and disabled people.   I am feeling so thrilled because I am accomplishing my goal.  I am working with all my heart and passion, giving all my best because my goals are bringing fruits.  I’m so happy and proud to join a very solid and dedicated team to meet the most vulnerable.  I’m bringing all my knowledge and experience to help For You Haiti accomplish its goals.”
